Happily for Rocky Mountain Custom Leather, there’s a farmers’ market and big top vendors’ tent this year when High River, Alberta hosts Guy Weadick Days June 23, 24, 25 and 26, 2016. The rodeo is a tribute to Guy Weadick, who put together a frontier show in 1912 that has evolved into the huge Calgary Stampede. Guy Weadick Days is an opportunity for professional rodeo participants to hone their bull-riding and chuckwagon skills before the Stampede starts two weeks later, and a chance for the audience to have some laughs and enjoy hair-raising Wild West events like buffalo riding and clown rope tricks.
There’s a family zone with bouncy castles and games, and the concert headliners are Justin Ament (June 24) and Emerson Drive (June 25).
Among the goods I’ll have there will be this wee purse to the right – hand-stitched and with an adjustable strap that goes from shoulder to cross-body length – and the ruffled bag, above, which also works as either a shoulder or cross-body bag. The wee one has a zippered coin pocket, numerous card slots and phone and keys pockets. The ruffled bag is lined with beautiful polished cotton and has three interior pockets.
Please come and visit me! The rodeo is at the High River agriculture grounds where Hwy. 2A enters town, and you can also get to it easily by turning west off Hwy 2 and the big highway exit onto 498 Ave.
